TURTLE BAY LODGE PROPOSAL

Turtle House is situated an hour and a half by boat on the high tide from Lamu in Kenya.
The remote site is situated on a pristine turtle beach. The request for six chalets, a primary living space, and a service building allowed the opportunity to work closely with the site by placing the chalets loosely amongst the growth beyond the first dune line. Lifting the chalets above the ground on posts ensured minimal disturbance and accommodated the potential of a rising waterline. The selection of coral mined from the site and thatch harvested from the highlands ensured that the footprint of this exquisite lodge fitted its environment.
