3N Rivers Edge micro farming is a proposal for sustainable
urban agriculture that is a transformative, integrated with agroecological practices that use systems thinking and a spatially-integrated landscape approach to
address challenges at the intersection of the climate resilience nexus.

This project proposes an innovative approach to food production that combines: integrated design principles, permaculture practices, and regenerative agriculture methods. It will serve as an educational tool for local students by demonstrating how to grow food in an urban setting, provide fresh produce for local restaurants and other vendors, and offer community members access to healthy food options. The farm will be designed to reduce flooding during heavy rains by absorbing rainwater on its rooftop gardens; reduce carbon emissions from transportation by growing local produce within walking distance from customers' homes; improve air quality by reducing vehicle exhaust while offering healthy alternatives; reduce noise pollution through green space instead of paved parking lots; provide habitat for wildlife species including pollinators like bees and butterflies; reduce energy use through passive solar design principles; increase biodiversity with both cultivated and wild plants growing side by side.

Rivers Edge is a project that is focused on building resilient and cohesive communities. It will be done by working with smallholder farmers, who are the backbone of many developing countries. The project will improve water harvesting and water quality using indigenous vegetation to filtrate systems and support ecosystem services, including shade, fruit, medicine, place-making, soil regulation, carbon sequestration and fodder. Agroecology is a holistic approach to agriculture that combines traditional farming practices with modern science. It has proven to be less costly for smallholder farmers/households and has socio-economic and environmental benefits. 3N will emphasise sustainable micro-farming and green infrastructure.
Rivers Edge-Micro Farming-Agroecology is a holistic approach to food production that emphasizes environmental stewardship, food sovereignty, health and well-being. This approach involves using a built environment-spatial planning-green infrastructure nexus approach across selected riparian social-ecological systems.
